Scientific NAMA4PD workshop at Freie Universität
Berlin – In March 2024, an interdisciplinary scientific workshop was held at the Free University of Berlin as part of NAMA4PD.
The aim was to systematically review the international state of research on the effects of disinformation and evidence-based countermeasures, particularly in the context of fragile regions.
Contents and results
– Systematic literature review of 2,695 scientific publications
– Analysis of empirical impact studies on disinformation interventions
– Discussion of communication dynamics in the Global South
– Evaluation of prebunking and inoculation methods
Key finding:
Preventive approaches (prebunking, media literacy, narrative resilience) are more effective in the long term than purely reactive corrective measures.
This scientific foundation formed the basis for the subsequent development of the NAMA4PD training manual and for its contextual adaptation to West African realities.
This workshop laid the foundation for an evidence-based, scalable training programme.
