Project Lighthouse Africa e.V.
Working group with scientists from the University of the Gambia

Project Lighthouse Africa e.V. is focusing on environmental management, environmental protection, and waste treatment, and has started a collaboration with the University of the Gambia (UTG) in 2012.

The aim of this partnership is to involve Gambian research institutions in the planning and execution of a landfill and biogas CHP project, establishing a long-term partnership that enhances expertise in the country. In addition, students will be given the opportunity to participate in field and case studies, enhancing their practical research experience.

To facilitate this collaboration, an interdisciplinary working group was formed comprising scientists from various fields and employees of Project Lighthouse Africa e.V. The group’s main role is to coordinate and develop research projects and partnership programs between UTG, German scientific institutions, and Project Lighthouse Africa e.V.

This initiative aims to foster knowledge transfer and expertise development in the field of environmental management in the Gambia.
